Conventional Radiocarbon Dating Review

Radiocarbon assessment for suitable organic material when a larger sample may be available.

Price: quotation confirmed in writing after photographic review

A conventional radiocarbon route may be considered for appropriate organic samples where the available quantity and research question justify it. Suitability and handling requirements are assessed case by case.

Clients receive a written scope explaining the sample, preparation assumptions, measurement route, reporting format and limitations before authorisation.

Dates relate to the tested material, not automatically to every component of an associated object or collection.

Before you submit

Send overall and detail photographs, approximate dimensions, known treatment history and the question you want the examination to address. Do not send an object until delivery has been agreed.

What you receive

The agreed deliverable may include image documentation, method notes, observations and a clearly scoped written report. No conclusion is issued without completing the agreed work.
